“Six-Traits
Rock!” – 45 minutes, K-2, 3-5 or all ages
The six-traits of good writing come alive as elementary
students learn (and instantly memorize) important steps
of the creative writing process. In less than an hour
students gain a writing experiences that will last a
lifetime. Up to 400 students can attend each program. A
professional BOSE sound system is provided. Splitting up
student body by upper and lower elementary
recommended but not required.
Price
range: $450 to $595 depending on location, time of year.
DISCOUNT pricing for multiple shows booked same day, same location.
You pay the lowest fee and all expenses (travel & lodging)
are waived when an area tour is booked for 3 or more consecutive
days (two programs a day minimum).

“Six-Traits in a Day” – 1
day, K-5
In this writing workshop Mr. Billy will kick off the day
with a school wide assembly concert. After the show, he
will visit as many classrooms as possible to discuss how
the six traits of writing can be applied to more than
just writing songs. Mr. Billy will emphasize the
importance of brainstorming and rewriting.
Price range: $950 to $1,495 depending on location,
time of year. All expenses (travel & lodging) are
waived when an area tour is booked for consecutive days.

“Write to the Beat” - 3 or more days, K-5
The original six-traits of writing artist in residency
program (now entering its 8th successful year). Your
students join and interact with Mr. Billy during the
creation and recording of NEW ORIGINAL SONGS. Each group
meets with him for two 45 minute sessions.
Session one: Mr. Billy and the students brainstorm a topic and
details (IDEAS) and create a first draft (ORGANIZATION),
they then discuss "style" (VOICE, WORD CHOICE and
SENTENCE FLUENCY) to come up with music style and verse.
Session two: having applied the style traits to their
composition, Mr. Billy will play the final version,
teach the children to sing it and record the
performance. A discussion of the importance of checking
their work (CONVENTIONS) will also be included in the
second session. If requested a final family showcase is
added at no additional charge. A professionally recorded
master CD featuring all songs written and sung by your
students is also included (which can be freely copied
and distributed for school use, additional family
keepsake CDs can be purchased from Mr. Billy for $10
each).
Price range: $1,250 a day depending on
location, time of year. All expenses (travel &
lodging) are waived when an area tour is booked for
consecutive days. SAVE 10% off entire fee
if you send a deposit with your signed contract at the time of booking your
